I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Chicago. My research interests are comparative race politics, social movements, and democratic consolidation. My dissertation examines the evolution of the social movements of Black activists in Peru and Ecuador from 1980-2016 and their impacts on state institutions and broader society. My research has been been published in a peer-reviewed journal, conference edited volumes and other areas in English and Spanish. At the University of Chicago, I have been a teaching assistant in various courses in the Political Science department, a BA Preceptor for the Public Policy Studies Program and a Teaching Consultant at the Chicago Center for Teaching.
